Episode #130
Introduction
In episode 130 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about SAP ASE on Azure NetApp Files, SAP on Azure Oracle Performance scripts, Identity federation between Azure AD B2C and SAP Cloud, Reinventing search with a new AI-powered Microsoft Bing and Edge, Microsoft Roadshow about SAP & Power Platform and Events-to-Business Actions. Then we have Karsten Strothmann from SAP joining.
A few years ago, when I was still working at SAP I had often discussions with architects at customers about Events and Event Driven Architectures. At that time we painted a lot of interesting diagrams how events could drive a business. How implementing these event driven architectures would change the way how applications work, how things would become “more realtime” or also more resilient from a business operations points of view. However, at that time it was mostly theoretical.
If I look back the last few months, I have to say I see a huge shift: all of a sudden customers are actually implementing these event drive architectures and now the question is more: how can this be done? Luckily SAP and Microsoft have been working on a good integration of SAP BTP Event Mesh and Azure Event Grid for some time and we currently have a beta running where customers can already experience the simplicity of integrating SAP events with Microsoft events.
